Gail Elizabeth Lashley, age 69, of Green Cove Springs, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center. Mrs. Lashley was born May of 1943 to the late Harold Lewis and Norine Elizabeth Bloom Goding in Miami. Prior to moving to Green Cove Springs 7 years ago, she had lived in Middleburg for 25 years. Mrs. Lashley was an artistic lady and she loved to paint. She also enjoyed quilting and canning. She was an avid reader, an animal lover and will be remembered as loving, caring, and a mother to all. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Lisa Daniel, a sister, Elaine Jeffords and a brother, Lee Goding. Mrs. Lashley is survived by her husband of 26 years, Marvin Junior Lashley, a son, David Steinmeyer and wife, Deborah of Lawtey, 2 daughters, Lori Blackwood and husband, Michael of Barnwell, SC and Lynn Hines and husband, Rob, a step-daughter, Sharon Covart and husband, Steve and a step-son, Marvin David Lashley and wife, Peggy all of Jacksonville, 2 sisters, Joyce Steinmeyer of Barnwell, SC and Linda Curl of Williston. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 17, 2012 in the chapel of Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home in Green Cove Springs with Pastor Drew Marshall officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the start of services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Susan G.
