Gary Don Davis

Mr. Gary Davis 74 of Starke passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, at Orange Park Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born January 3, 1947, in Summerville, Georgia to the late William and Estelle (Mize) Davis. Prior to retirement, Mr. Davis had been an over the road truck driver for 30 plus years. He has been a resident of Starke since 1978 and a member of the First Baptist Church for 25 plus years where he served as deacon, was faithfully and fully involved and worked part-time following his retirement. Mr. Davis also enjoyed being outdoors camping, picnicking and traveling with Ms. Ann in their motorhome. He and a few of his church friends would meet for weekly breakfasts and lunches. Mr. Davis leaves behind his loving and much dedicated wife of 56 years and their children Carrie Browning (Frank) of Middleburg and Jim Davis (Kellie) of Starke. He was lovingly called "Papa" by Joshua Davis, Jeremy Davis, Ryan Browning, Savannah Browning, Bradley Davis, Josh Browning and Jeremy Browning. Also left behind are numerous friends that will miss him dearly. A celebration of life for Mr. Davis will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Gold Head State Park, 6239 SR, Keystone Heights, FL 32656. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 163 West Jefferson Street, Starke, FL 32091.
