Mr. Gary Dean Hickox 62, of Melrose passed away in Jacksonville on Wednesday March 23, 2011 following an extended illness. Gary was born in Jacksonville on November 5, 1948 to the late Virgil S. and Faustina (Florida) Hickox, Sr. Gary has been a resident of Melrose for the past 16 years moving from the Jacksonville and Macclenny area, and was self employed as a long distance truck driver. He was of the non denominational faith, enjoyed cooking and fishing. Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Patricia Pat, and their daughters, Nancy Marie Hughes (Lee) of Melrose, and Melissa Michelle Webb (Jamie) of Macclenny. He is also survived by his brothers; Virgil S. Hickox, Jr. of Jacksonville, Jimmy Hickox of MS, 5 grandchildren and mother in law, Carrie Bell Mosley of Lawtey. Viewing will he held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 5-7 at the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home in Keystone Heights.
