Gary Milton Norris, age 73, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on March 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Gary was born on October 6, 1952, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Harold and Elizabeth Norris. He grew up as the youngest of ten children in a large and loving family that helped shape who he was. His upbringing created a deep sense of connection to family that remained important throughout his life.

Gary attended Florida Junior College in Jacksonville before continuing his education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he carried a lifelong pride for Gator football. He spent his career working as a produce broker before eventually making his home in Fort Myers, Florida.

Above all else, Gary was a proud and loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Keck), Paul (Krista), Zachary, and Samantha, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Annabelle, Emmy, Aminah, and Archer. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished the time spent with them.

Gary will be remembered for his love of music, his enjoyment of golf, and his sense of humor. He had a gift for cracking jokes and bringing laughter to those around him, leaving behind many cherished memories.

He is also survived by his extended family and many friends who were fortunate to know him and share in his life.

Gary's memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with those around him, and through the lives of his children and grandchildren. Though he is no longer with us, his light will continue to be felt in quiet moments and in the love he left behind "here comes the sun," a gentle reminder that even in times of loss, warmth and light remain.

A service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on April 18 at 2:00 PM at Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home, 1811 Idlewild Ave, Green Cove Springs, Florida 32043.
