George Theodore Ackary Funeral services for George Theodore Ackary, 82, will be held at 1:00P.M. Friday, July 12, 2013, in Holiday Hill Baptist Church, with Dr. Albert Byrd officiating. Born May 12, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Ackary died Monday, July 8, 2013 at his home in Jacksonville. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, retired after 34 years as a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service, was a member of the 49ers and Southside Seniors Bowling League, and Holiday Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Elaine Stephens Ackary of Jacksonville; three daughters, Carrie L. (William) Fletcher of Atlantic Beach, FL, Rita M. (David) Fletcher and Georgette M. (Fred) Ritzhaupt, both of Jacksonville; two sons, David M. Ackary and Robby M. Ackary, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
