Mr. George Martin Chambers, age 79 of Keystone Heights, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Community Hospice in Jacksonville. He was born on March 29, 1947, in Washington, DC, to Charles and Virginia (Fletcher) Chambers. He proudly served as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, a role he cherished proudly throughout his life.

Mr. Chambers enjoyed watching Western and action movies and relished his hobby of collecting lighthouse memorabilia, each piece reflecting his appreciation for guidance and warmth. He was truly a selfless individual who always put others first, instilling those values in his family and inspiring all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mr. Chambers spent his later years in Keystone Heights and was dedicated to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Judy Chambers in April of this year and his sister Joan Mone. Left behind to cherish his memory is his son, Sam Chambers, and daughter-in-law Jennifer. George was also a proud grandfather to four grandsons: Mason, Dezmond, Troy, and Jaymz, along with his cherished granddaughter, Jeniah, who lovingly called him "Grandpa." Adding to his growing family, he is survived by two great-grandsons, Avery and Mateo. Also left are many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Middleburg Christians Church with Mr. Jerry Crolius officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors.
