Obituary

It is with profound sadness and great love that I announce the passing of George Forzly, beloved husband, father, and soulmate, who passed on to glory on October 15, 2025, at the age of 73. George was born on May 6, 1952, in Suwanee, Tennessee. George nurtured the values of love and trust and was a devoted husband to Barbara Lee Forzly.

For 50 years, he was a wonderful father to Kathleen Thorne, Cynthia Reynolds, and Kenny Thorne, and he was a godly man, demonstrating unwavering loyalty and compassion throughout his life. His warm sense of humor brought joy to everyone around him, making even the most ordinary moments extraordinary.

He was a hard worker, devoted not only to his profession in the automotive industry at the Parts House in Gainesville, Florida, but also to his family and community. George had a passion for aviation and loved flying, cherishing its freedom. He enjoyed the thrill of antique cars, often reminiscing about the special moments when he purchased his first airplane, and the companionship of his beloved cats, Ebony and Tiger. His love for nature was unsurpassed. A dedicated member of Saint Bart's Church in High Springs, George's faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him in every endeavor and relationship. He treasured the precious moments spent with his wife, and their 50th wedding anniversary will always stand out as a cherished milestone.

George and Lee were married by Father George Forzly, and that was another very touching moment. We will find comfort in the shared, loving memories that unite us in our sorrow and gratitude for his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, the Reverend George Forzly; his mother, Bonnie Floyd; and his brothers, Tim Forzly and John Forzly.

As his wife Lee says, what a glorious reunion there will be in heaven. There will be so much joy in singing and laughing and praising the Lord. She will miss him tremendously every moment of every day, and their love for each other will ring throughout the heavens.
