Mr. George Milos Hlavac age 89 of Keystone Heights passed away on Saturday February 23, 2013 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. Mr. Hlavac was born on March 29, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Meto and Ludmilla (Kaplan) Hlavac and had served in the United Coast Guard during World War II. Prior to his retirement he worked in the Maintenance Dept. for a Pharmaceutical Company. He has been a long time resident of Keystone Heights and members of the Keystone Am Vets Post 86 and the Keystone Heights American Legion 202. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying, crossword puzzles, reading, working at his sons Aluminum Rails business for 25 years, and he loved his cat and dog. Mr. Hlavac was preceded in death by his wives Edith and Shirley and also his long time companion Betty Tucker. Survivors are his children Terry Sorensen and Stuart Sorensen of Keystone Heights, Brian Angleovich of Georgia, Michelle Landry of Connecticut, one brother: Karl Hlavac of Pompano Beach, eight grandchildren ,ten great grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. A breakfast will be held in Georges Honor on March 23, 2013 at the Keystone Heights AM-Vets Post from 9-11 a.m. with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. also at the Am-Vets Post.
