George William Hoffer III passed away peacefully at his residence on December 23rd 2022. He was born on February 24th 1954 at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Lakehurst, New Jersey, to George William Hoffer Jr. and Patricia Steunenberg. He grew up and attended high school in St. Albans Vermont. He proudly served our country during the Gulf War, and retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of dedicated service. After his military service he was employed in the culinary, insurance, and transportation industries. He is survived by his son Michael Hoffer and daughter in law Amanda Hoffer of Starke, Florida, his brother Jeff Hoffer of Palm Coast, Florida, his sister Sue Hoffer of Vermont, his sister Tricia Drumm of Jacksonville, Florida, his granddaughter Kristen Hoffer of Middleburg, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George William Hoffer Jr. and Patricia Hoffer. Services will be held on February 24th 2023 at 10:30 am at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
