He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Deloach Johns, his father, George William Johns, Sr. and his nephew, Scott Johns.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cynthia. His daughters, Virginia [Keegan] Ivey, Toni [Gordon] Bayless, Heidi Earman. His grandchildren, Ian P. Cooper, Heidi [Kacey] Cook, Dalton Lonergan, Sandi [Shane] Olson. Siblings, Bob [Joanne] Johns, Linda [Nick] Nichols. Great grandchildren, Sisters & Brothers-in-law, nieces & nephews, along with many more family and friends.In 1972, George married the love of his life, Cindy. He attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a degree in Religious Education. He then began his extensive pastoral ministries that spanned over many decades, as well as a vast career in logistics.He was a dedicated member of the First Coast PT Cruisers, a skilled and creative carpenter, and an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. His was a lifetime of philanthropic work devoted to the betterment of childrens lives, feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless.
