Mr. George Leroy Tiny Lovell age 86 of Starke passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Windsor Manor Nursing Home. He was born on April 14, 1922 to George Calvin and Katie Belle Decker Lovell, and moved to Bradford County in 1945 from Winchester, IL. Mr. Lovell served in the United States Army during World War II, and joined the Florida National Guard, retiring after 28 years of service with Camp Blanding. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 56 in Starke for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Lucile Ward Lovell; sons: Henry Leroy Lovell; Jimmy Bubba Lovell; daughter: Margaret Ann Conners. Survivors are his wife of 33 years Elsie Belle Geiger Lovell of Starke; daughter: Mary (Butch) Redding of Starke; sons: James A. Gnann; and Plen (Sherrie) Gnann all of Theressa; daughter-in-law: Michelle Lovell; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; niece: Jan McRae; nephew: Duane Searle numerous other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, February 21st from 6-8:30 PM.Funeral services will be on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 3:00 PM in Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Shawn House, Mr. Dean Slocum, and Mr. Joey Hey officiating.
