Mr. George Washington G.W. McKinney age 84 of Starke, passed away Monday, August 24, 2009. Mr. McKinney was born on August 23, 1925 in Starke to Carl and Mae Dyal McKinney and moved back to Starke in 1975 from Jacksonville. He was a Baptist and served in the United States Navy. Mr. McKinney retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Engineer. Survivors are: his wife of 39 years Alice Mae Wheelock McKinney of Starke; brother: Buford McKinney of Starke; sister: Lorine Nunnery of Stewart; step-daughters: Wanda Wright of Starke; Carol Ann of Michigan; several nieces, nephews, and caregiver Marty Anderson.
