George Edward MooreGeorge Edward Moore was born on August 5, 1933 in Missouri and passed away peacefully into heaven on Thursday May 20, 2021 after a brief illness.George was the son of, and predeceased by, Edward Thomas Moore and Odessa Marie Donnell Moore. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Moore who passed away at the age of 23 and his loving wife of 65 years, Jacquelyn Rhae Stroud Moore passed away on March 7th of this year.George is survived by his two daughters and son-in-laws; Kitty Collins (Terry) and Georgia Stalvey (Blaine), Grandchildren; Tara Pitts (Brad), Tiffany Auger (Kevin). Tammy Massey(Blake), Heather Highhouse( Billy), Marshall Stalvey (Lauryn), Great Grandchildren; Bryce Pitts, Will Highhouse, Savannah Highhouse, Colt Auger, Everly Massey, Lydia Stalvey.George was a patriot at heart having served in the U.S. Air Force with pride and never forgetting his experiences there. He spent most of his years working in the food brokerage business.One of his greatest passions was his football referee positions through the years. He was a long time high school football referee serving with some of the best crews in the city. His crew refereed 4A state football championships and also served as an officer in the high school association of referees. He said it was a highlight of his life.For a brief time he was a USFL referee serving during the 1984 season. He was part of the crew that did Jacksonville Bull football games.George was a Christian and served in all the churches he was a member. He would organize youth basketball leagues for churches that competed all over the city of Jacksonville. He was a faithful member of Southpoint Baptist Church where his son- in-law pastored. He and Jackie were active in the PrimeTimers ministry there at Southpoint.We are at peace as a family knowing that he is with his wife of 65 years and both are safe in the arms of Jesus.A memorial service will be held at Southpoint Baptist Church, 3335 Tiger Hole Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32216, on Friday, June 11th at 11:00AM.
