Gerald Blankenship

Gerald Blankenship age 77, passed on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in Gainesville. Gerald was born on August 10, 1941 in Starke to the late Virgil and Edna "Yates" Blankenship. He was a volunteer firefighter for the New River Fire Department, retired as a welder for GE after 25 years, and owned B&B Air Condition. During his spare time he enjoyed spending time farming with his tractor and also enjoyed spending time with his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James H. Blankenship. Survivors include his wife, Murley "Browning" Blankenship of Starke; son, Kevin Blankenship of Gainesville; brothers, Tim (Cathy) Blankenship of Orange Park, Forrest (Jeannie) Blankenship of West Virginia, Frank (Sheila) Blackburn of Starke, and Randy (Shannon) Blankenship of Starke; sisters, Joyce Fox of Kentucky, Marie (Danny) Brabham of Fleming Island, Barbara Weddington of West Virginia, Janet (Billy) Meeks of Deltona, and Sandra Andrews of Keystone; 3 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Glenn Cathey and Pastor Ron Kimbrell officiating. A visitation will precede the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Sapp Cemetery.
