Gerald
Dallimore
Feb 22, 1927 — Jun 18, 2025
Gerald Dallimore, age 98, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025. He was born February 22, 1927 in Plymouth, England to the late Herbert Ernest Dallimore and Alice Rogers Dallimore.
Gerald was a loving brother and brother-in-law to his late sister Evelyn Osborne and her husband Dennis.
Gerald leaves behind two beloved nephews, John Osborne of Cape Town, South Africa and Gerry Osborne of Welwyn Garden City, England.
While working as a 45 year old bachelor in Telecommunications in Salisbury, Africa, Gerald met an American missionary/teacher to the Nadu Tribe of Rhodesia, Africa from Dalton, Georgia, who was to become the love of his life.
Threads working together in the loom of destiny united Gerald and Betty Jane Shepard on December 2, 1972.
Gerald always referred to her as "my Betty wonderful." Their fairy tale honeymoon would be tragically cut short after only four short months. While traveling home from Salisbury for Easter Vacation on April
14, 1973, along with three darling American missionary children from Minnesota, an automobile accident would snatch Gerald's "Betty wonderful" and two of those missionary children out into eternity.
Gerald would say, "Betty went to glory from Africa holding the hands of two little children."
That wound would never heal, it only stopped bleeding.
After that chapter of his life closed, a new chapter began.
Gerald would find love again.
In August of 1975, Gerald married another dear missionary lady, Esther Montgomery.
The two served as missionaries in the United States to the Jewish people being thoroughly convinced that the Jews are God's chosen people and that Jesus is indeed their Messiah.
Gerald faithfully proclaimed the Good news that Jesus saves and fully believed God's Word that promises:
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13, KJV)
In January of 2022, Gerald would have to give Esther back to the good God that gave her to him 46 years earlier.
Gerald loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, loved the Word of God, dearly loved his family, he loved life, loved people, absolutely love to talk…more than he loved to eat when he was hungry, had a brilliant mind, and was charmingly witty.
His joyful spirit was contagious. He was truly an English gentleman and a prince among men.
Gerald's life made a difference in everyone's life that knew him and made a difference eternally for the kingdom of heaven. He will be greatly missed, however, heaven is now a sweeter place because he is there.
In the sunset of his years, God and the wonderful staff at Park of the Palms in Keystone Heights helped him navigate the narrow passage between life and death.
A graveside service will be held on Monday June 23, 2025 at 9:00 am at Keystone Cemetery with Pastor Scott W. Shepard
A memorial service will follow at 10:00 am for the residents and staff of Park of the Palms in Keystone Heights. Arrangements are by Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home of Keystone Heights 352-473-3176 www.jonesgallagherfh.com.
