Gerald Robert Krebsbach

Gerald Robert Krebsbach passed away unexpectantly at his home Friday, May 28th.A memorial service is planned at Bartram Baptist Church, 13233 Saint Augustine Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32258, at 10:00 AM EDT on Saturday, June 5th.Jerry was born June 5, 1955, in Sundai, Japan. As a child, he lived in Hawaii, Virginia, and California.Jerry served in the Air Force from 1979 to 1982 where he worked on the A10 Warthog airplane. While stationed in England, he met his future bride, Sharie Peterson. They resided in Jacksonville, FL, until his death.Jerry was employed as a machinist at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Center (formerly Acuvue Contact Lenses) for 34 years until his retirement in 2018. While at Johnson & Johnson, he helped develop new products and was listed on several US Patents as a co-inventor.Jerry was an active member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church for 30 years and of Bartram Baptist Church since 2021. He helped his wife plan, develop, and lead 18 Vacation Bible Schools. Jerry always stayed in the background, but his impact was significant.Jerry loved kids and animals. He rescued as many pets as he could. Jerry and Sharie frequently hosted youth activities at their home or took kids to the beach for a day of fun. Upon learning of Jerrys passing, one of those boys, now several years older, called Miss Sharie and asked if she would like him to camp out in the living room for company.Mr. Krebsbach is survived by his wife Sharie, sister, Phyllis (Joe) Chavarris, and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents Beulah (Ingalls) and Leon Joseph Krebsbach, and his brother, Peter Krebsbach.
