Germaine "Gerry" Rita Ouellette Rodrigue

Mrs. Germaine "Gerry" Rita Ouellette Rodrigue age 85, of Keystone Heights had a long and full life filled with love and family gatherings. She progressed to her eternal rest on January 28, 2017 in Gainesville. She was born on March 3, 1931 in Fall River, Massachusetts. Gerry married Alcee Peter Rodrigue Jr. on December 6, 1952 in Cambridge, England. They were married 55 years before Alcee passed away in 2010. She was a faithful wife and mother. She moved around the world, as her husbands Air Force duties required, for 21 years. Upon his retirement, they settled in Starke in 1969. She moved to Keystone Heights in 1991.Gerry was a devout Catholic who attended St. William Catholic Church in Keystone Heights as often as possible. She enjoyed EWTN when she wasnt in church. Her hobbies included ceramics, and painting in oil, watercolor and acrylic. She also enjoyed activities at the Senior Center.Over the years, she had various employments. She obtained her Laboratory Technician license in 1973 which she used at Bradford Hospital, working with Dr. Caldwell, Gainesville Medical Group: Andrews & Associates and Union Correctional Institution. In 1982, she obtained her real estate license and gained employment at ERA Faulkner real estate and Kampe Appraisals.Gerry considered her greatest accomplishments to be her posterity. Her posterity incudes: sons, Kerry Rodrigue of Port Saint Lucie and Kenny Rodrigue of Ocala; daughters, Roxie Rodriguez (Arthur) of Loveland, Colorado, Danette Kurimay (Mark) and Suzette Townsend (Mark), both of Keystone Heights; 14 grandchildren, Teresa, Nicholas, Matthew, Adam, Justin, Bryan, Joel, Nicole, Marc, Garrett, Wyatt, Brent, Colby, Alyssa; and 11 great grandchildren.Also surviving are her sisters, Jeanne Goulet (Norman) of Westport, Massachusetts and Margaret Coulombe (Maurice) of Colchester, Connecticut; and brother, Norman Ouellette (Madeline) of Dover, New Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alcee Peter Rodrigue, Jr; her father and mother, Odilon J. Ouellette and Aldea Jalbert Ouellette of Fall River, Massachusetts; her brother, Raymond Ouellette; and sister, Pauline (Sr. Therese) Ouellette.A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. William Catholic Church, 275 Satsuma Road, Keystone Heights, FL 32656 with Father Mike Williams officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 9:00 am prior to the mass. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Friday afternoon following the mass at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
