Mrs. Gerolean "Gerry" Elizabeth Ray, 83, of Keystone Heights passed away in Orange Park, Wednesday, July 8, 2015. She was born in Danville, Virginia, Monday, February 15, 1932 to the late James F. and Lena E. (Tucker) Hodges, Sr. Mrs. Ray was a retired Real Estate Agent for Century 21, and has been a resident of Keystone Heights since 1985 moving here from Jacksonville; she was also very proud to say that she literally built her home herself. Mrs. Ray was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she had been very active; she enjoyed singing and traveling in her camper. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her son, Roy Ray; two brothers, Rev. Joseph C. Hodges and Vernon Hodges and her granddaughter, Lanisha Ray. Her survivors are her three children, Marshall Ray (Joan) of Savannah, Georgia, Terry Ray of Jacksonville, and Marsha Kay King; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Madsen. Also left behind are her two siblings, Rev. Jim Hodges of Mercersburg, PA and Frances Wilson of Rocky Mountain, NC; nine grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. The viewing for Mrs. Ray will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2015 in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services beginning at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Scott Stanland will be officiating and interment will follow the services at Keystone Heights Cemetery.
