Mr. Gid Wilbur Coleman age 69, of Earleton passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville. Mr. Coleman was born on July 24, 1943 in Lake City to the late Gid Foster and Ella (Bradley) Coleman Lindsey and had moved to Earleton 24 years ago from Gainesville. Prior to retirement he was the owner/operator of the barber shop in Keystone Heights for many years, and had also served in the United States Army. Mr. Coleman enjoyed horses, fishing, and spending time with his family. His two sons James Coleman and David Coleman and his sister Iris Sorensen had preceded him in death. Survivors are his three daughters: Mary Marchand of Newberry; Pam Teemley of Keystone Heights; and Paula Setzer of St. Augustine. Mr. Coleman also leaves behind his sister: Janice Hawkey of Arkansas and his five grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Coleman will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Pastor Larry Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that contributions please be made to the Haven Hospice of your choice.
