Giddeon Jackson Wilcox, known as Jack to his loved ones, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 25, 2018.Jack was born on January 10, 1936 in Alma, Georgia. He was a Veteran of the Navy, serving proudly as a Bosuns Mate in The Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, he made his home in Jacksonville, Florida. Jack joined the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office in 1963, where he became a Deputy Sheriff and a motorcycle patrolman. He was recognized as an imposingly good-looking patrolman with a no-nonsense persona by day and a loving teddy bear by night. After retiring from the sheriffs office he started a land developing company which led to many years of new adventures.Jack married the love of his life, Charlotte Annette, on March 31, 1973. They blended their five children together and added three more of their own. After building their dream home on a lake in Fruit Cove, Florida, they resided there until his death.Jack is preceded by his Mother and Father, Sue and Warren Wilcox; and by 4 brothers and 4 sisters: Cadmus, James, Rodrick, Robert, Marie, Patricia, Addie, and Jo.Jack is survived by his wife of 45 years, Annette; by 7 daughters: Jacki, Ginger, Gina, Dina, Patti, Becky, Rachael; and by his son Carlos. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and by his brother, Bill.Jack was a devoted husband and father and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His biggest hope was for all he loved to come to salvation so they could join him one day in the Promised Land.His life will be celebrated with a visitation on Friday, April 27, 2018 between 6-8PM and Funeral services Saturday April 28, 2018 at 1PM at George H.
