Ginger
Boggs
Aug 25, 1938 — Oct 9, 2025
Ginger Jean Finley Boggs, 87, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Known affectionately as "Jean," she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose quiet strength and boundless compassion touched the lives of many.
Jean was born on August 25, 1938, in Long Branch, New Jersey. From her earliest years, she exhibited a gentle spirit and a deep capacity to care for others. Though often soft spoken, Jean's presence carried a warmth and sincerity that made everyone around her feel loved and valued.
She shared a devoted marriage with her late husband, John Boggs Sr., and together they built a family rooted in love, respect, and perseverance. Jean's life was marked by her commitment to her family—her sons Donald Boggs and John Boggs Jr., her daughters Angela Baker, Virginia McRae and her late son, William Coleman. Her pride in her grandchildren—Stacey Chapin, Lisa Boggs, Steven Boggs, Stephanie Paschall, Tyler McRae, and Madison McRae—and her great-grandchildren was immeasurable.
Jean found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved working through a good crossword puzzle, losing herself in the pages of a romance novel, and creating beautiful pieces through plastic canvas sewing. These hobbies provided her quiet moments of peace and reflection, balancing her generous service to others with time for herself.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Meadow Funeral Home on NW 23rd Avenue in Gainesville, Florida. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Life Path Hospice chapter for their compassionate care and unwavering support during Jean's final days.
Jean will be remembered for her kindness, her giving heart, and the gentle love she shared so freely with all who knew her.
