Glenn M. Evans, Sr. Glenn M. Evans Sr. 96, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born in Murfreesboro, Arkansas on Sept. 29, 1916 to James M. and Zoreen Evans. Glenn was married fifty six years to the love of his life, Annie Mae who gave him two sons, after her death in 1993, he married Virginia Sikes a long time family friend. Following her death Glenn was fortunate to find love and companionship with Jan Davis until her death in 2012. He was preceded in death by his brother V. Gordon Evans. He is survived by his two sons Glenn M. Evans Jr. of Waynesville, N. C. and W. David Evans (Sharon) of Jacksonville. Glenn was also the proud grandfather of his three grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren, along with four great- grandchildren, and eight step great-grandchildren. He would have held his fifth great-grandchild, a boy, in June. Glenn loved sailing and could always be seen wearing his Greek-seamans cap. He had a love for trains and flying. He was particularly proud of his pilots license and painting talent including portraits of family and friends. Glenns life will be celebrated in a memorial service on April 25, 2013 @ 11 A. M. in the chapel of Southside United Methodist Chyrch, 3120 Hendricks Ave. Jacksonville, FL 32207. The family would like to give special thanks to the memory unit and rehab section at Southlake Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church in Glenns memory. George H.
