Glenn Irving Heeder

MSGT (RET) Glenn I. Heeder, age 86, of Starke passed away Saturday April 16, 2016. He was born in Albany County, New York on November 1, 1929 to the late Otto W. and Elsie (Dayton) Heeder. Mr. Heeder honorably served in the United States Air Force and Marine Corp. In 2013, he and his wife moved to Starke after 43 years in Melrose. He was active with Friendship Bible Church in Keystone Heights; he was a devoted husband and outdoorsman. His survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary (Stanley) and their three children, Michael Heeder (Dana) of Starke, Joan Durdin of Atlanta, Georgia, and Paula Hafers (Fred) of Tucson, Arizona along with five grandchildren and four great grandchildren and numerous extended families. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Reverend Paul Coleman officiating.
