Mr. Glenn Priest age 79 of Hampton passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He was born December 21, 1939, in Fort Myers to Francis "Cody" and Wavie Mae (Quattelbaum) Priest and served in the Unites States Air Force. Prior to retirement he was a mechanic working for the railroad system with thirty years of dedicated service. In 2006, Mr. Priest and his wife moved to Hampton from Ohio where he was a lifetime member of the AmVets Post 45 in Salem and a Golden Buckeye Eagle in Lisbon. He was also a member of the AmVets Post 86 in Keystone Heights and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. Mr. Priest was known for his exceptional talent in woodworking and keeping busy spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son Glenn Cody Priest. Mr. Priest leaves behind his wife of 49 years Linda (Armstrong) Priest of Hampton and four daughters Virginia Epps (Bruce) of Cape Coral, Pamela Wood (Bob) of Gloucester, Virginia, Tracy Cranford (Paul) of Milford, Virginia and Shelly Taylor of Fort Myers. He was also lovingly called "Papa" by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 1, 2019, at the AmVets Post 86 from 12 - 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or donors@stjude.org.
