Ms. Gloria Jean Carlisle, 72 of Green Cove Springs, passed away December 24, 2021 at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park. Ms. Carlisle was born October 8, 1949 in Jacksonville to parents John Alford and Betty Jean Mitchell. She was a retired cosmetologist who owned and operated Glorias Beauty Salon. Gloria enjoyed going to the beach, writing poems and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved dog Karma. Survivors are her children, Ricky Mitchell (April), Christina Spadea (John), Greg Carlisle (Sharon) and Gary "Brother" Carlisle, Jr. (Carrie) sisters, Alma Grimmer and Vicki Taghavi, and brothers, Keith Alford, Steve Alford, and John Alford. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeanine "Sunshine" Carsey (Scott), Beth Carlisle, Jaimie "Dolphin" Pippin (Chris), Kayla Childers (Marshall), Cory Carlisle, Taylor Carlisle, Noah Mitchell, Casie Carlisle, Gracie Carlisle and Lil Gary Carlisle, III, great grandchildren, Trenton Pippin, James Carsey, Alaina Payne, Carter Pippin, Carslee Jean Pippin, Jonathan Carsey, Cortlin Pippin, Wyatt Childers, and lifelong friend, Barbara Tucker-Bullins. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 in the Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Hay officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service.
