Grady Lamar Williamson

Mr. Grady L. Williamson age 84, of Starke passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at Shands Hospital. He was born in Alachua on September 7, 1931, to the late Johnny Grady and Florence (Hall) Williamson. Mr. Williamson was a lifelong resident of Starke and had retired as a supervisor for Tacachale in Gainesville. He was a member of Keystone Christian Church and Christian Family Fellowship in Jacksonville; he was also an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. When his health permitted, Mr. Williamson served tirelessly in his churches and youth camps. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Durden) Williamson and his stepson, Mitchell Davey. Survivors are his three stepchildren, Karen Redman (Rick) of Ocala, Pastor Marty Davey (Yvonne) of Middleburg, and Michael Davey (Kathy) of Dandridge, TN, along with six grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Funeral services for Mr. Williamson will be held at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Pastor Marty Davey officiating. Viewing will begin at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery.
