Hank Dickinson

Ernest H. "Hank" Dickinson, age 76, passed away on Saturday May 19, 2018 in Jacksonville. A Jacksonville native, Hank was born here on March 28, 1942 to Ernest Dickinson & Louise Roberts Dickinson. Hank was a graduate of Englewood High School and a veteran of the United States Army. Hank spent over 44 years with the Florida East Coast Railway as a locomotive mechanic & supervisor.Hank was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Austin Holsomback & a great-granddaughter, Alexis Wade. He is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine L. Dickinson (nee: Bainbridge); his daughters Lisa Baker Holsomback (Barry) & Laura Baker Newman (Bradley); granddaughters Heather Thompson (Shalawn), Holly Holsomback & Carrieann Hubbard (Garett); numerous great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandchild.A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 23, 2018 in the chapel of George H. Hewell & Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S., with Dr. Terry N. Collins officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 p.m. until service hour.
