Mr. Harland Lamar Thacker, 79 of Keystone Heights passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in Gainesville. Mr. Thacker was born in Piedmont, AL on November 28, 1930 to the late Percy and Ethel (Young) Thacker and had moved to Keystone Heights from Piedmont in 1964. Mr. Thacker retired from General Electric as a Tool and Die maker; he had also served in the United States Army and was a Charter member of the Trinity Baptist Church. His survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nima (Walker) Thacker of Keystone Heights and their children; Beverly Thacker Lewis and her husband Andrew of Jacksonville, David G. Thacker his wife Kara of Parkland, FL. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Kristy Thacker, Robert Thacker, and Cameron Lewis. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11 oclock at the Keystone Heights Cemetery with Pastor James Peoples officiating.
