Mr. Harold Collins 93, of Keystone Heights passed away at his home on Thursday. He was born on November 8, 1917 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 17, 2011. His wife of sixty-three years, Claudia and two grandsons, Brian and Jason Collins preceded him in death. His three children survive: Dr. Michael Collins (Maureen) of Brighton, Michigan, Larry Collins (Ann) of Melrose Landing, Florida and Pat Taylor (Clint) of Jacksonville. Seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive him. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Trinity Baptist Church and after thirty years with the Jacksonville Fire Department, he retired as a Battalion Chief. He was recently honored as Oldest Living Retired Fireman in Jacksonville. More importantly he and his wife Claudia spent fifty years teaching the Bible to young people in Jacksonville and Keystone Heights. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 5 - 8 P.M. in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Trinity Baptist Church of Keystone Heights with Dr. James Peoples and Dr. Michael Collins presiding.
