Harold Edward Jones

Mr. Harold Edward Jones, Jr. age 78 of Lawtey passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Orange Park Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1941, in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Harold and Agnes (Younkens) Jones, Sr. and had served four years in the United States Navy. Mr. Jones was a longtime resident of the area and retired as a driver from UPS following thirty three years of employment. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church where he served as deacon for forty plus years; he also loved fishing, watching western shows and was an avid Gator fan. Mr. Jones leaves behind his loving wife of fifty four years Jo Ann (Wilkerson) Jones of Lawtey and their two children Samantha Jones of Starke and Brian Edward Jones of Gainesville along with a nephew Donnie Jones of Ft. Lauderdale. He was loving called "Papa" by two granddaughters and one great granddaughter. Viewing for Mr. Jones will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019, in Highland Baptist Church with funeral services starting at 2:00 p.m. Brother Bill Clayton will be officiating and interment will immediately follow at the Highland Baptist Church Cemetery.
