Harris C. Parker, Jr., age 93, passed away on Sunday February 5, 2017 in Jacksonville. Mr. Parker was born in Valdosta, Georgia on November 27, 1923 to Harris C. Parker, Sr. & Flora E. Parker and moved to Jacksonville as a child.Mr. Parker served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as a wholesale food broker for many years, selling produce to the many grocery chains operating in the southeast United States.Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents & siblings. He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Susan M. Parker; son and daughter in law, Joseph M. Rhoden & Jean M. Rhoden.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday February 22, 2017 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. with Dr. Terry N.
