Harry Dillard Sr. (62) of Gainesville FL, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 28, 2023 surrounded at his home with his loving wife, son and daughter at his side.Harry, also known as Chris, was born August 16th, 1960, in Suffolk Virginia to parents Harry and Anne Dillard. After High School, he enlisted the United States Marine Corp. Harry took great pride serving his country and often spoke of how the Marine corps impacted his life teaching him core values of discipline, courage, commitment and Honor.While in the Marine Corps Harry met the love of his life Julie Bishop in Florida and Married November 28, 1981. They started their family and had two children, Harry Christopher Jr. and Jennifer Anne. Harry was a faithful servant to Jesus and has left a legacy to everyone who was blessed to know him. He was an ordained deacon and served as a youth pastor for many years at Carol Estates Baptist Church and Parkview Baptist Church. He was vibrant and full of life leading youth to Jesus and teaching Gods word. He touched many youth and adults with his love for Jesus and his desire to reach others to know Christ. He loved his church family and Jesus with his whole heart.Harry had many titles, but his favorite titles were Daddy and Grandpa "Paw". His life was dedicated to loving his family first and loving his grandchildren that much more. Harry will be deeply missed by his family along with his infectious loud laughter, his incredible sense of humor, his zest for life, and his gracious love most of all.Harry was preceded in death by his father Harry Hersel Dillard Jr., his grandson Jeremiah Levi Chesser and his Marine Corp Brother John Alan Glover Sr. Harry leaves behind his beloved wife Julie Dillard of 41 years, Son Harry Dillard Jr. and wife Jamie, daughter Jennifer Chesser and husband Jason, loving mother Ann Dillard, Grandchildren Reed, Mackenzie, Paisley and Jayce, brothers James Wade, John Thomas, and Justin Paul Dillard, Sister Heather Dillard Creech, 15 loving nieces and nephews and multiple brother and sister in laws and extended family.Visitation and viewing will be August 11th, 2023 at 6:00pm at Forest Meadow Funeral Home: 725 NW 23rd Avenue Gainesville Florida.
