Hayes L. Timmins Hayes L. Timmins, 98, passed away on Monday February 17, 2014 in Jacksonville. He was born in Memphis, TN on December 22, 1915 to James and Scevilla Timmins. Mr. Timmins proudly served his country in U.S. Navy, Pacific Theater, during WWII where he was awarded the Purple Heart when his Destroyer, the U.S.S. Purdy, was attacked by a Japanese plane. He enjoyed a long career with Miller Highlife, Lee Helman Distributors, retiring after 69 years.Hayes was preceded in death by his beloved wife Addie Mae Timmins and is survived by two sons, Robert Hayes Timmins and William Laughlin Timmins and three grandchildren, Robert, Michael and Sean.A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday February 20, 2014 in Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd. Arrangements are under the direction of George H.
