Hazel M. Mathews

Mathews, Hazel M. (80), passed away peacefully on January 23, 2018. Hazel was born November 4, 1937 to parents, George and Marie Mathews who preceded her in death. She attended Andrew Jackson High School and graduated in 1956. She then began her career at the Federal Reserve Bank and retired after 35 years of service. She also was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Jacksonville for many years. Hazel is survived by her brother, Bob Mathews (Joyce) of Middleburg, FL, and her sister, Charlotte Vanek of Jacksonville, several nieces and nephews and many loving friends from her church family. Services will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral home, 4140 University Blvd. S., Jacksonville, FL, at 2:00pm. Officiating the service will be Dr. Robert Morris of First Presbyterian Church, 118 E. Monroe, Jacksonville, FL.
