Helen Yvonne Fulton

Helen Yvonne Fulton died Saturday, April 16, 2016 from complications of pneumonia and Parkinsons disease. Yvonne was born to Surge and Gladys Fulton on November 28, 1927 in Bartow, Florida. She attended Summerlin Institute and Rollins College, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Following college, she worked for a short time in Dallas, Texas and then moved back to Florida, making her home in Jacksonville. She then began a partnership with Betty Tway, forming an advertising agency which published a weekly magazine that was distributed in 23 newspapers across the State of Florida. Yvonne was a member at South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church and Peace Presbyterian where she served as an elder. She was active on numerous boards for various non-profit agencies including the Visiting Nurses Association. She founded the organization known as Be A Friend, in which volunteers served as companions to over 600 elderly men and women who had no family in the area. She was an avid golfer and aced every par 3 at the Deerwood Country Club and she was womens club champion multiple years. In additions to golf, Yvonne spent many happy days at Sanibel Island where she enjoyed fishing with family and friends. She is survived by her business partner and life-long friend, Betty Tway, nieces Deborah Sizemore (Alan), Jan Crawford (Hugh) and Lynn Aaron and fourteen great nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday April 22, 2016 in Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.Arrangements are under the direction of George H.
