Obituary

Mrs. Helen Laverne Jackson-Burnett age 85, of Starke passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Jacksonville following and extended illness. Mrs. Jackson-Burnett was born January 5, 1928 in Alma, Georgia to the late Austin L. and Dora Whitley, and was of the Baptist Faith. Prior to her retirement she was Seamstress in the Alma and Baxley, Georgia area prior to moving to Starke many years ago. Mrs. Jackson-Burnett also enjoyed spending time and traveling with her friends to the various nursing homes in the area to visit with and sing to the residents. She was preceded in death by her son Larry Turner and a husband Edward Jackson. Survivors are her husband of 9 years, Norman Burnett; one daughter, Diane Mundorff, husband Ronnie of Keystone heights; three sons, Ronnie Turner also of Keystone Heights, Jerry Turner, wife Sandra of Baxley, Georgia, and Terry Turner, wife Pat of Dothan, Alabama; one brother, Carlos Whitley of Callahan, and one daughter in law, Jessie Turner of Hazlehurst, Georgia. Mrs. Burnett also leaves behind her 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME in KEYSTONE HEIGHTS on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, KEYSTONE HEIGHTS. Burial will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery in Starke. Arrangements are under the care of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 340 E. WALKER DR.
