Ms. Helen Jane Smith age 80 of Dahlonega, GA and formerly of Keystone Heights, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022. She was born August 17, 1942, in Jacksonville to the late Marion and Mildred (Penticoff) Mains. Ms. Smith worked many years at Alachua General Hospital as their admitting specialist. She was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church in Dahlonega, Georgia. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, dining out, gardening, going to the beach and spending time at her mountain cabin in Dahlonega, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Ms. Smith leaves behind her three children Guy Smith (Marsha) of Jacksonville, Josh Smith (Michelle) of Biloxi, Mississippi, and Holly McIntyre (Ron) of Lake City, along with siblings Paul Mains of Jacksonville, Susie King of Starke, Lee Ann Peeples of Green Cove Springs, and Joy Mains of Las Vegas, New Mexico. She was lovingly called "Nanny" by grandsons Brandon Smith, Benjamin Crislip and Dean McIntyre; by granddaughters Brittany Smith, Heather Crislip, Miranda McClure and Meredith Knight, and by great granddaughters Taylor and Tinsley MacLean. Funeral services for Ms. Smith will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December, 15, 2022, in Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Brown officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
