Mrs. Helen Loretta StarlingMrs. Helen Loretta Starling age 82, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center Beaches following a brief illness. She was born on June 24, 1938 in Highland and was a lifelong area resident. Helen was a homemaker and attended West Jacksonville Baptist Church. She was a master gardener and true horticulturist who enjoying growing flowers. Helen enjoyed reading her Bible, going to church, teaching Sunday school and was a voracious reader. Preceding her in death was her father, William Cecil Hardee, her son William Joseph "Joey" Starling, grandsons, William Brandon Starling and Logan Clint Starling. Survivors are her husband of 65 years Charles Gerald Starling of Lawtey, children. Ann Ulloa (Derby) of Jacksonville, Charles "Jerry" Starling, Jr. (Robin) of Perry, Michael Wayne Starling (Belinda) of Starke, and Melissa Jarman (Ricky) of Orange Park, her mother, Ona Norman Thomas of Lawtey, Siblings, Freda Reddish of Lake Butler, Wayne Hardee of Highland, Marcie Depew of Jacksonville, and Denise Crapse of Keystone Heights. Also left are her grandchildren who lovingly called her, Granny, Nanny and Grandma, Daric Harvey (Alicia), Amy Shiver (Loomis), Michael Wayne Starling, Jr., Whitney Schoening (Cody), Haley Schoening, Asheton Charles Forsyth, Taylor Crosby, Cole Crosby and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11 oclock. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Macclenny with Dr. Rodney Kelly and Preacher Charles Starling officiating the services.
