Helene B. Richards, 94, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away in the comfort of her home Wednesday, October 16, 2019.She was born in Tower City, Pennsylvania on May 14, 1925, a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Sherack) Lodish.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend."Maw-Maw" or Grandma as she was lovingly called by her grandchildren, will be fondly remembered for her laughter, prayer cards and hugs. She was devoted to her Catholic religion and lived her life as such.Helene will be forever remembered by her son, daughter, grandchildren, sisters and all extended family and dear friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her four-legged friends. She enjoyed laughing, singing and always had a side of feistiness to her personality. Her interests included praying, reading the newspaper and mail, seeing her grandchildren succeed in their lives and rooting for the "Phillies!"She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, Sr., brothers; George, Walter, Joseph and John Lodish, and sisters; Josephine Saylor, Mary Jacoby, Margaret and Stella Lodish, Julie Boczar and Peggy Lodish.Surviving are son, William Richards, Jr. (Helen) of Florida and daughter, Deborah Polly of Virginia; five grandchildren she was very fond and proud of, Anthony, Angela, Nicole, Michelle and Kimberly; two great grandchildren, Hayden and Alona; and three sisters, Carol Reiner of Virginia, Correne Daub of Tower City and Kathleen Reed of Tower City.A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 6320 Bennett Road, Jacksonville, FL 32216..
