Mr. Hilton C. Coleman, Sr. age 85 of Starke passed away Wednesday, November1, 2023, in Gainesville. He was born November 20, 1937, in Lumber City,Georgia to William and Mary (Pittman) Coleman. Prior to retirement he servedas the Horticulture Instructor for Lawtey Prison. Mr. Coleman was a longtimemember of Morgan Road Baptist Church, avid Atlanta Braves fan, enjoyedworking in his plants, and bird watching. He was also known for making hisdaily trips to Walmart, Winn Dixie, and Aldi as well as working the electionpolls. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisterLollie Browning and son in-law Mike Osteen. Mr. Coleman leaves behind hisloving and devoted wife of nearly 67 years Nancy (Conner) Coleman of Starkeand their children Carol OSteen of Starke, Lisa Sapp (Joey) of Lawtey, BeckyThomassen (Kenny) and Hilton Coleman, Jr. (Deanna) all of Starke, along withsiblings Hubert Coleman of Waldo, Ellen Martin of Starke, and Lynda Dicandioof Tennessee. He was lovingly called "Papa" by eight grandchildren and ninegreat grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 5,2023, beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Morgan Road Baptist Church.
