Obituary

Homer Edward Corbin, 89, of Fort White passed away on June 20th. Homer was born in Horseshoe Beach, Florida on April 12, 1934 to Jack Corbin, Jr. and Viola Corbin. Homer was married to Ann Cahill Corbin on June 23, 1956. He graduated from Dixie County High School in Cross City, Florida and joined the U.S. Navy after high school. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 38 years and retired from civil service at the University Station office in Gainesville, Florida. He enjoyed carpentry and was an avid reader his entire life. He is survived by his loving wife Ann Corbin; three beloved daughters Cheryl Corbin, Peggy Conard, and Karen Lawton (Denis); grandchildren Dr. Melissa Gouge, Kimberly Andrews, Stephanie Turowski, Shawn Lawton, and honorary grandson Caleb Bussard; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Davis, Janice Thomas, and Laverne Rhodes; and brother, Wayne Corbin. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Viola Corbin, his brother Thurman Corbin, and granddaughter Amy Corbin. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Mt Olive Cemetery, 1039 SW 320 Ave, Steinhatchee, Florida.
