Hubert E. Aenchbacher, Jr., age 94, passed away on June 8, 2014. He was a native of Atlanta and alumnus of Atlanta's Boys Hugh School and University of North Carolina where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. He Served in WWII and was a Master Sergeant with the 2nd Armored Division. He was a Mason for 73 years, as well as a long-standing member of Morocco Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite and York Rite and he served as High Priest and a Commander of the Knights Templar. He was a life member of Sons of the American Revolution and was past Chapter President and Florida Vice-President. He was also appointed to serve on the U.S. Constitutional Bi-Centennial Commission. Mr. Aenchbacher also worked with the Boy Scouts of Shawnee District of North Florida Council. He was also a former member of Arlington Christian Church. Mr. Aenchbacher was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Edna. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Debra) and Garry Aenchbacher; his grandsons, Robert Aenchbacher, Jr., Daniel (Meredith) Dortch, David (Amy) Dortch & Jacob Fisher; his granddaughters, Samantha Dortch, Bella Dortch & Hannah Krisof; his brother, A. Eugene Aenchbacher and a number of nieces, nephews & extended family. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday June 14, 2014 in the chapel of George H. Hewell & Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., South, with Dr. Robert Morris of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday June 13, 2014 at the funeral home.
