Mrs. Ida Mae Hagan Sasser age 74, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her home in Starke. Mrs. Sasser was born on August 25, 1942 in St. Augustine to the late Vincent and Edna (Roberts) Hagan and was a longtime resident of Bradford County. Ida retired from Sunland Training Center (now Tacachale) in Gainesville working as a cottage parent and was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband John William Sasser, her brothers, Jake Hagan and Clarence Hagan and her grandson, Mark Adkins. She is survived by her sons: John W. Sasser (Joyce) of Starke and David J. Sasser (Carol) of Nicholls, GA, sister: Ellen I McKinney of Pine, AZ, brothers: Ronald P. Hagan of Madisonville, TN and Carl M. Hagan of St. Augustine. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jered W. Sasser, Denise Griffis and Lisa Rosier all of Lawtey and Anthony Metts of Nicholls, GA, nine great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Cain officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
