Ida Marie Starling

Ida Starling age 91, a resident of Keystone Heights/Melrose area passed away at St. Vincent Clay on May 24, 2018. She was born March 15, 1927 to Charles and Rose Staier in Louisville, KY where she attended the local Catholic school. Ida went on to work at several restaurants before landing her final job at The Chuck Wagon restaurant in Jacksonville, where she met her husband and love of her life Jack Starling. She enjoyed helping others by donating her time at church rummage sales and maintaining the church grounds with her husband. Ida is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Rose; nine sisters and brothers; her childrens father John Christian; son Dana Christian; granddaughter Emily Christian; stepdaughter Sharon Starling and her husband Jack Starling. She is survived by her son Jerry Christian (Cloette); step children, Mike Starling (Ruby), Robert Starling (Caroline) and Robin Carter, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with viewing 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thur. May 31, 2018 at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Fri. June 1, 2018 at St. William Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to LArche of Jacksonville, Lake Area Ministries of Keystone Heights or St. William Catholic Church.
