Mr. Lofton was born in Basinger, FL on September 11, 1924 and moved to Gainesville in 1986 from Chattahoochee, FL. Mr. Lofton served in the United States Army during WWII, was a retired Supervisor for the Florida School for Boys, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Keystone Heights. His survivors include his children: Gina Watkins of St. Cloud, FL, Mary Ann Menard of Broken Bow, OK, and Dennis Lofton of Houston, TX. One sister, Gloria Kay, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Ophia Lofton. Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing prior to the service. Burial will be in the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
