Ingrid Goldstein Smith

STARKE- Ingrid G. Smith of Starke, FL died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at her Kingsley Lake residence with family and friends by her side. She was born on October 25, 1943 in Denver, CO, although she grew up in Greensboro, GA. While attending the University of GA in Athens, she met the love of her life Tom (Tombo) Smith. They recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Ingrid's parents, Evabel & Sam Goldstein, preceded her in death.Ingrid was admired by many friends and family throughout her life, both younger and older than she, for her beauty, for her love of others, for her defense of the less fortunate, for her friendly personality, and for her smile. Her many friends and family will truly miss her.In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother Glenn Goldstein (Doris) of Frankfort, KY; two sons, Dick (Sherry) Smith of Port Orange & Brad (Michelle Greist) Smith of Starke; Grandchildren, Hogan, Hayden, & Bailey Grace; as well as many nieces and nephews.Ingrid and Tom spent 18 years in Miami, FL, during this time Ingrid was employed in various positions while mainly focusing on raising her boys, before moving back to Starke, FL. Ingrid was co-founder & co-owner of Coldwell Banker Smith & Smith Realty. She mentored many young women throughout the community both spiritually and professionally.While attending the University of GA she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. Ingrid was a past President of the Starke Kiwanis Club & a founding member of the Altrusa of Starke.A memorial Service will be held at Madison Street Baptist Church Starke, FL 32091 on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Scott Crook and Rev. Charles Warren officiating. A reception will follow. Burial will be private.
