Mrs. Iva JoAnne Hicks age 91, formerly of Keystone Heights passed awaySaturday, February 24, 2024, in Brooks, Georgia. She was born February13, 1933, in Gainesville to John and Laura (Cowan) Dykes and had been alongtime resident of the Keystone Heights and Waldo area. Mrs. Hicks wasa homemaker and loved the Smokey Mountains, where she and her latehusband enjoyed camping and visiting waterfalls. They decided to move toFranklin, NC where they owned and operated a motel and restaurantbusiness. Mrs. Hicks was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for manyyears. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by herloving and much devoted husband of 66 years Charles Hicks, and herbrother Len Dykes. Left behind to cherish her memory are her threechildren: Debra Dale (Michael) of Orange Park, Randy Hicks (Tena) ofWaldo, and Laura Wilkinson (Glen) of Brooks, Georgia, along with brotherStephen Dykes. She was also "Granny", "Nana", and "Nana Jo" to eightgrandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and another on the way.The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2024, beginning at 1:00p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. withPastor Michael Dale officiating. Interment will be private at Santa FeCemetery.
