Mr. Jack Rubin Bannon 77, formerly of Keystone Heights died in Alabama on Thursday, August 27, 2009. Mr. Bannon was born in Jacksonville, FL on August 11, 1932 to the late Patrick and Pearl (Lane) Bannon. Prior to moving to Alabama 2 years ago, Mr. Bannon was a Salesman for the Child Safety Program for the St. Johns Sherriffs Department. Mr. Bannaon was also a member of the St. William Catholic Church; he served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a graduate of the St. Paul Catholic High School in Jacksonville. His survivors include his wife of 9 years: Marion (Grossman) Greenwell Bannon. Children: Bruce, Kevin, Brett, Scott, Mark, and Dawn Bannon. Stepchildren: George and Wade Riess, Beth Ann Higginbotham and Toni Freeman; a sister: Patsy Dvorak. Grandchildren: Hunter, Victoria, Caitlyn, Craig, Kevin, Kavanegh, Kayla, and Colt Mullis. Step grandchildren: Ashley, Brandi, William, Christina, Tucker, Brady, Heather, Nicole, Keith, Charlie, Hunter, Laken, Matthew, and great grandson Nathan. Jack is also survived by the mother of his children. He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy. Viewing for Mr. Bannon will be held on Tues. Sept. 1, 2009 from 6 -8 at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held on Wed. Sept. 2, 2009 at 10 Oclock in the St. William Catholic Church with Father Mike Williams officiating.
