Obituary

Mr. Jack D. Collins, 82 of Interlachen died suddenly on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka. Mr. Collins was born in Morganton, GA on January 6, 1928 to the late Jack and Grace (Lord) Collins. He had served in the United States Navy and prior to his retirement he had worked for Ford Motor Company Stamping Plant in Ohio. Twenty one years ago Mr. Collins had moved to Interlachen from Ohio and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Keystone Heights. He was very family and church oriented, and his grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and working in his workshop. Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Phyllis of Interlachen and their children; Michael Collins (Nadia) of Akron, OH, Diane Woods (Jimmy) of Vidalia, GA, Darlene Given (Scott) of Raleigh, NC, and Richard Collins (Shauna) of Keystone Heights. He is also survived by his siblings; Ruth Randolph of Oakridge, TN, Richard Calvin Collins (Jo Beth) of Keystone Heights, Grandchildren; Richie Collins, Jeff Given, Dan Given, Tyler Given, Dean Collins and Chantell Eaton. A memorial service for Mr. Collins will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11 Oclock in the First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Prose officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for contributions to be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 550 E. Walker Dr., Keystone Heights, FL 32656.
