Jack (Joke) Ping Eng, 93, had a very peaceful transition to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, January 26, 2024 surrounded by family reminiscing about his amazing life. Family and friends were the hallmarks of Jacks life, while his kind, generous, and loving ways impacted all who knew him.Jack was born December 11, 1930, to Bill (Wing Quong) and Jean (Yuet Chan) Eng. In 1947, at the age of 16, Jack came to the United States with his mother and brother Jimmy. In 1951, Jack officially became a United States citizen. While residing in the United States, he maintained correspondence with a young lady named Shirley (Yuk Sin Wong). In 1955, he went back to Hong Kong to wed his wife. They returned to the United States to begin their life together.Jacks long career as an entrepreneur and successful businessman included ownership in grocery stores, restaurants, and real estate development. However, the health and well-being of his family and grandchildren was his inspiration throughout his life. Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley and his 3 children, Mayinn Dungan (David), Jing Eng (Susan), Bing Eng (Kristin), and his sister Phyllis Eng Chan (Ming). He is predeceased by his brother Jimmy Eng. Jack was proud of being a Yea-Yea (Grandfather) to his four grandchildren Kathryn Eng See (Jordan), Morgan Eng Brown (Jackson), Brianna Eng, and Mackenzie Eng. Jacks genuine smile, sense of humor, generosity, and loving spirit will also be missed by his extended family and friends, both near and far.Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2024, 6:00pm - 8:00pm at George Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, Jacksonville, FL 32216. The funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at George Hewell and Son Funeral Home.
